Celebrating the Church Year in June
As we turn our calendar to a new month, we begin to anticipate all that Summer has to offer. I love beginning a new month because it always feels like a fresh start. Have you been wanting to celebrate the church year at home and just haven’t had the chance? June is a great month to begin! Maybe your kids are home from school for the summer – what a great time to get them involved in helping you plan how to celebrate in your home. Every home is different.
There is no right or wrong way to remember these dates. It is just a wonderful opportunity to bring rich Church history into our homes and start an open dialogue in our families. The Lutheran Service Book and Treasury of Daily Prayer are not just for church – they are amazing resources to use at home (along with your Bibles) as well!

June 5: Third Sunday after Pentecost Learn a hymn together as a family! For our family I like to pick one where I can carry the tune (I am not musically inclined) and that my young children can sing with me. This month our selected Hymn is LSB 507 – Holy, Holy, Holy. Here is a video of Grace Lutheran Church in San Diego, CA singing this hymn if you’d like something to sing along to.
